Vi har en Volvo för idag!
You want a basic one? Have a DL. Yes, it’s rhd and has lhd wipers. That was a thing then. No, I don’t know why it doesn’t have any door mirrors. They may not yet have been compulsory but you’d expect Volvo to fit them.
Got a bit more money? You’ll be wanting a GL. That gives you a nice chromed grille.
Got even more money and want your fuel injected? A GLE for you. You’ll see from the mirrors that it’s a newer one.
Found that you’re an American? You’ll be wanting some cute sealed beams stuck into a space intended for rectangular lights. Plus your sidelights will have to become orange.

Yup. It’s still his biggest regret that the merger failed. Along with the crazy attempt by the Norwegian government to buy 40% of Volvo in exchange of oil rights.
